Jerome Teelucksingh
Jerome Teelucksingh, PhD – Lecturer in History at the University of the West Indies, Jerome cofounded International Men’s Day in 1999, which began in his home country of Trinidad and Tobago. It quickly spread internationally to more than 70 countries. It is now a movement which promotes goodwill for all people, and especially celebrates fathers in their important role in the family. IMD’s goals are to promote positive male role models (including working class men who live decent, honest lives), celebrate men’s positive contributions to society (including marriage, child care and the environment), focus on men’s health and well-being, prevent discrimination against men, and create a safer and better world where everyone can grow to reach their full potential.
