Jose Torcal is a civil engineer with ten years of experience working in sustainability and regenerative projects. Originally from Spain, the study and practice of water management have taken Jose on a journey covering the Netherlands, Nicaragua, Canada, Egypt and Mexico. His interest in the emotional connections and narratives around water in public spaces set him apart from traditional engineering early on. He approaches technical projects with a focus on deep community engagement, employing tools like exploratory walks and storytelling. Jose shares his thoughts and musings in the substack’s newsletter “Nothing to declare”.
