He is the Founder & Former CEO of Millennial Action Project (MAP), the largest organization of young elected leaders in the U.S. Through MAP, Steven has been on the front lines of passing legislation on democracy, gun violence prevention, climate, veterans employment, and more. Steven’s commentary has been featured in numerous national media outlets, including CNN, MSNBC, NPR, NBC, the ''Washington Post, USA Today,'' and more. This past fall, Steven served as a political analyst for NBC's largest affiliate in Wisconsin. He recently made history as the first South Asian candidate for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin, running on a platform to renew our democracy. Steven is the subject of the documentary film, "The Reunited States," on Amazon Prime, and co-author of the book, JFK: THE LAST SPEECH, on the role of artists in democracy. He is a frequent speaker on leadership and politics at venues such as Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, the University of Chicago's Institute of Politics, SXSW, the Aspen Ideas Festival, the White House, the United Nations, and more.
