Cities Rising Day 2 - HR Day 161

Breakout Room 3: Hilary & Julie

Q1: What is the message sitting in the citie’s (communities) soul on which you sit today?

Q2: What am I being moved to do with this message?

Breakout Notes:

  • Disregard for the soil below this house when it was built. Feeling hurt for the destroyed trees.
  • Land and water and rainbows. Trust
  • Recognize. Moves faster then thought. Say yes to that feeling of trust. Less speaking needed w trust. I am being communicated with constantly.. with the soil, which I am already part of. Weaving this City governance - if the officials have not done this - do not feel this - then they are not ready. Then they will just take, not give. Recognize with feeling.
  • Feeling my city being ready to dispense from governance seats. We elected someone who is not usually in a position like this, neither party. Movement happening in Philadelphia!
  • Soil has a strong role to play.
  • House build in 1885 in farming area. exchange w 1st Nations. Trading tree across street, the 350 yrs old walnut tree! Soil is fertile with original intent of exchange. I need to access - farming of ideas, new forms new structures. exchange - honorable of ancestors. Farming one is new.

Q2: Seeds of the froms of Governance?

  • Farmer showing her around - spade in ground, whoed her the earth. Keep worms happy - thats all - the rest will fall into place. What if there is just one simple focus, what are the worms / pot of honey that we are , is regenerative? Joy. Joy is regnerative. Gives peace, poltice to bring out the toxins.
  • Removed what is inappropriate - what is nown to the unkonw in Philladelphia.
  • Nominating Speaker passed thru us - to Ann-marie

Jan did not know how to get to the after chat --- hmmm City Week Pages links to put back?
From Jan Spencer - Urban Permaculturist "carreer" - works with cities:

I tuned in this morning, a bit before Vanda Shiva.

I had a sense this was what the entire week was about,,, kinda woo woo content which is nice but what about people actually on the street, in the soil, creating real life alternatives to the mainstream? Yesterday, I saw a panelist from Barcelona,,, I missed her comments. Did she say anything about super blocks? Superblocks in Barcelona is one of the most exciting urban initiatives in the world for turning car space into space for people and planet.

Is there any session planned that is real world projects and initiatives? Eco villages, worker owned responsible business, eco restoration projects, suburban permaculture, public options, economic and political democracy?
