Today we will hear from Indivisible -- a nationwide movement of thousands of volunteer-led local groups that engage in progressive advocacy and electoral work at the local, state, and national levels- ::https://indivisible.org/::

  • Leah Greenberg is a co-founder and co-Executive Director of the Indivisible Project. Prior to founding the Indivisible Project, Leah served as Policy Director for the Tom Perriello for Governor of Virginia campaign. She has managed human trafficking grants and programs as an Investments Manager for Humanity United, served as an Advisor to the State Department’s Quadrennial Diplomacy and Development Review, and worked on Capitol Hill for Congressman Tom Perriello (D-VA).  Along with her co-founder and spouse Ezra Levin, Leah has been featured as one of TIME 100’s Most Influential People of 2019, included on GQ’s 50 Most Powerful People in Trump’s Washington, and ranked #2 on the Politico 50 list of top thinkers, doers and visionaries transforming American politics. Indivisible Project drives coordinated campaigns, powering the grassroots Indivisible movement to defeat the rightwing takeover of American government and win an inclusive democracy and bold progressive policies.
  • John Brakey is the director and co-founder of AUDIT Elections USA. (AUDIT is an acronym for Americans United for Democracy, Integrity and  Transparency), a 501(c)3 NGO that advocates and litigates for public oversight of federal, state, and local elections. AUDIT USA evolved from AUDIT AZ, which Mr. Brakey co-founded in 2004. Mr. Brakey’s signature phrase, “Elections must be transparent, trackable, and publicly verified,” is becoming ingrained in the language of politicians and election integrity advocates across the U.S. He believes in building a “horizontal” organization that educates, empowers, and collaborates with local groups in different states to assist them in developing their own advocacy efforts.
  • Ken Bennett, an American businessman and politician who served as president of the Arizona Senate and served as the 19th Secretary of State of Arizona, from 2009 to 2015. He was a candidate for Governor of Arizona in the 2014 election and 2018 election. He is a member of the Republican Party and devoted to election integrity. Ken with John have developed signature election integrity legislation which is slated to pass the Arizona State Legislature and become a model for the country.
  • Un-PAC - is a nonpartisan group of students and young people organizing to fix our broken democracy by getting big money out of politics, and protecting and expanding youth voter access. We were founded in March of 2021 to fill the void of young people organizing to pass democracy reform at all levels of government, and to ensure that young people are on the frontlines of the unprecedented advocacy it will take to do so. We were responsible for running the largest door-to-door canvass in the history of West Virginia, and organizing two mass youth hunger strike actions in both Arizona and DC, as part of our efforts to pass federal democracy reform policy. We have recently launched a slate of new campaigns in five priority states (AZ, WI, MI, FL and PA) designed to galvanize young people around safeguarding our democracy at the state and local level.

Co-convener:

  • Jim Garrison, President, Ubiquity University
  • 45 Participants
