Current findings show that a major cause of men living sicker and dying younger is relational health, something not previously recognized as an aspect of health at all. The U.S. surgeon general recently released a report on the epidemic of loneliness. Loneliness, he says, poses health risks as deadly as smoking up to 15 cigarettes daily. Shana has been a relationship coach for men for 20 years and has a window into the men’s relational and emotional struggles and breakthroughs. We will discuss what it takes for men to shift from loneliness and isolation, to connected, supportive relationships. We will also explore the role that vulnerability and emotions play in this, and how men can be embraced for the full spectrum of their humanity.
