Last year at the end of COP 26 in Glasgow, the environmental movement generally concluded that it had finally become clear that the governments were not serious about doing anything significant to deal with climate change. All they were committed to do was blah blah blah, as Greta Thurnberg put it. Nothing has changed except that the climate situation continues to spin out of control. In fact, because of the war in Ukraine, the climate issue has literally been pushed off the agenda between the US and Europe and Russia, China, India, among others.

COP 27 is thus doomed to fail before it even starts. What we are doing at Humanity Rising is using the occasion, not in the hope that the governments will do more than blah blah blah, but in the hope that it is humanity itself that will rise up and take the necessary actions. It is up to us, the people, to do what must be done.

Superorganisms use collective intelligence, swarm creativity, distributed leadership, trust and regenerative value to survive and thrive. Humanity is a superorganism that essentially has yet to discover its full potential. The ants and the bees might help.
