In day 2 of this 2 day series, we will weave together the tapestry that that explains from the inside-out why trees and forests can’t heal themselves, especially in climate extremes, and how they need human conscious collaboration—not “management”. We’ll invite you into a short personal experience of connection, communication, and collaboration and suggest a new, transformative opportunity for humanity.

Trees, plants, and forests, as sentient beings, have the ability to follow a “path to healing” and—once healthy—can adjust their internal functionality to meet the challenges of climate extremes. In other words, with just a little consciously collaborative help from their human friends, they can protect themselves from the effects of climate changes. And we’ll tell you what the trees have told us about their lives in climate extremes.

Such consciousness-based mutual collaboration with trees, plants, and forests could be the way for empowered individuals to restore a livable planet and could be humanity’s last hope if or when necessary practical and technological actions fall short.

On day 1 of this 2-day series, our goal is that you grasp the previously unimaginable possibility of mutually sharing not only Life Force but also healing information with trees, plants, and forests. We invite you into a guided visualization connection experience and ask you to take steps into a partnership to deepen your relationship with trees, plants, and Nature.

You’ll gain deeper insight into how trees, plants, and forests as conscious beings operate from the inside out and why they can’t heal themselves when stressed or in decline, especially in climate extremes.

Before becoming a full-time writer Lachman studied philosophy, managed a new age bookshop, taught English Literature, and was a Science Writer for UCLA. He was a founding member of the pop group Blondie and in 2006 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Lachman was born in New Jersey, but since 1996 has lived in London, UK.

We know that countless humans are reeling with climate anxiety and experiencing fear, anger, grief, despair, dread, and understandably attempting to cope with the reality of potential human extinction with massive amounts of denial. We can all agree that humanity cannot continue on its current trajectory, our position has become precarious, and our tending of the planet is sloppy at best. We are not only driving the sixth mass extinction event but endangering our own lives.

We have evidence-backed proof that one such seemingly small action can do exactly that, and can have incredible and far-reaching benefits for the individual ecosystems in question. This is all great when the reintroduced species remain within the constraints of the park boundaries, but what happens when those wild beings (wolves, bears, beavers) stray outside of their protected zones? Humanity, we who un-wilded the landscape in the first place, have not changed and remain as top predator. Any wild pecies perceived as getting in the way of economics, of profit and “progress”, once more become prey. We find ourselves following the old story that got us into this mess in the first place. How do we address this? How do we allow new and more vigorous life to take hold, diversity to spread, strengthen and enrich all lives, rather than just those isolated islands of protected refuge?

Going on the old adage that you cannot fix a situation with the same mindset that broke it, first we must change our minds. We as a species must rewild ourselves. We must remember that it is not only the rest of the natural world that is in mortal danger, we as a species are too. We have never been at such a crisis point with regards to mental health and wellbeing. As we have made our planet sick through our behavior, so we have made ourselves sick. The connection is real. Humans are nature. We are intrinsically connected, when the natural world fails, we as a part of it, do so also. But, the simple action of remembering that, remembering that we are just one part of the whole, can have staggering affects. Remembering ourselves as nature and all more-than-human beings as our intelligent, sentient, relations has the power to change everything. Living with acknowledgment and respect for our fellow beings is our internal keystone species. Can more-than-human nature guide us to our own healing? Can our individual and species-specific healing transmute into planetary healing, halting the destruction while nurturing a more resilient and vibrant future for all? What if we opened our hearts and minds to our more-than-human relations and listened to what they had to say?

Her happiest memories from those times were hiding out in the back garden playing with worms in the compost. After completing a degree in physical geography she went on to travel widely and it was then, during expanded immersions with land based communities, that she finally began to know what home felt like. Her hosts blew her mind with the number of plants that they personally knew and their respectful, reciprocal, relationships with those plants. On returning to the UK Rachel pursued both a sustainable land use and permaculture training. However, it was not until she came across the work of both Eliot Cowan and Stephen Harrod Buhner with regards to communing with the plant realms, that she really found the missing piece. She studied with both and has been guided by the plants themselves ever since. Our two speakers for this HR session are both writing memoirs of their lifelong experiences with psychic phenomena and the studies of consciousness.

Dr. Krippner describes the beginning of his journey in this way:

“As a young man, I was writing a letter to my Uncle Max, an executive for a Wisconsin dairy company, when I had a sudden flash that he had died. I was puzzled by this revelation and it was followed by a scream from downstairs. I ran down to see my mother holding the telephone, visibly shaken. “Your Uncle Max just died!” This was completely unexpected because we had just seen him at a family gathering and he seemed to be in robust health. The date was December 9, 1946, and it changed my life. From that point on, I read anything that I could find on premonitions, precognitions, intuitive hunches and related phenomena."

Dr. Krippner’s life then intersected with the world of the paranormal, developing relationships with researchers around the world in areas such as shamanism, psychic healing, telepathy, and precognition. He became a pioneering investigator on similar research in the Soviet Union during the 70’s and 80’s, a topic he will discuss in this presentation. In 1969, as Director of the William Menninger Dream Laboratory at the Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, he was researching the possibility of altered states of consciousness as facilitators of psychic experiences such as telepathy and precognition. Hickman contacted him for information about his research and Krippner invited Hickman to join him as a research assistant at the Dream Lab. Subsequently, they traveled together to the Soviet Union to investigate the Russian research into “hidden human reserves” and have collaborated on various approaches to the study of consciousness ever since.

Reflecting on his own studies and experiences in this realm, Jim commented recently: "It’s not just about parapsychology any more. Realizing the implications of paranormal functioning when combined with the modern view of quantum physics and neuroscience, we are now more deeply understanding the energetic frame within which we dwell. With the right concentrated sense of mind and focus, and desire and belief, one can shift the way we experience the world."

In this discussion, both presenters will talk about their own experiences and their perspectives on how these phenomena are a part of the human condition and may be accessible for most of us in the process of living well.

* For the past 50 years, '''[[Jim Hickman]]''' has been a pioneer in studying frontiers of consciousness. Beginning in the early ‘70s, he spent over 2 decades collaborating with Soviets researching exceptional human abilities including parapsychology, all modes of healing, accelerated learning, shamanism, and what the Soviets called “hidden human reserve capacities.” He was also an assistant to the legendary Stanley Krippner, the pioneer researcher into the study of consciousness, and worked with him at the William Menninger Dream Laboratory. He and his lifelong colleague, Jim Garrison, transformed the Michael Fox-founded Wisdom University into Ubiquity University, an accredited global university designed for social impact. As co-founder of Ubiquity University, Jim teaches the popular Applied Neuroscience course which provides students foundational practices for use in developing enhanced cognitive, emotional and spiritual skills. He is currently writing a book on how the latest discoveries in quantum physics, epigenetics, and neuroscience, when combined with the teachings of the wisdom traditions, inform us about Successful Living in Turbulent Times.

* '''Dr. [[Stanley Krippner]]''' has received the Lifetime Achievement Award for the International Association for the Study of Dreams, awards for Distinguished Contributions to Professional Hypnosis, Distinguished Contributions to the International Advancement of Psychology, and Distinguished Lifetime Contributions to Humanistic Psychology, all from the American Psychological Association and their affiliated societies . His career is multifaceted, covering everything from the study of psi-conducive states of consciousness to creativity, from the dreams of transgender people to treatment options for veterans with PTSD. He is currently writing his memoirs about his journey in the vast realm of consciousness studies, titling them A Chaotic Life.

The problems facing Humanity have become increasingly complex to a point that to solve them requires a different level of consciousness and a different type of leadership. Unfortunately, many of our leaders today are choosing to “kick the can down the road” not fully understanding that there is “no more road”. And, this is further complicated by the actions taken by the general public believing that a strong, autocratic leadership style is what is needed. Neither are a recipe for success and are leaving future generations with a world seemingly beyond repair.

To restore balance in the world we need systems that are ecologically sound, economically feasible and socially acceptable. The systems that are in place were designed as much as a century ago. They are no longer in balance and have resulted in the destruction of our ecological world. Our systems must be replaced and the institutions supporting them must be re-evaluated. The leadership to shepherd in these new systems is essential.

“Strings of Hope” is an innovative musical experience designed to bring addiction recovery and mental health out of the darkness and into the light of day. It was performed on June 1, 2022 at the Southern Theatre in Columbus, Ohio. The theater was transformed into a giant harp with the audience immersed inside. The Earth Harp, the world’s longest playable stringed instrument, was played by William Close. He is well known for his passionate performances, and his ability to delight the senses through sound. Mr. Close has traveled the globe with the Earth Harp, stringing it across canyons, cathedrals, theatre balconies, bodies of water, and many other places.The heart-lifting evening – a gift to the community from the REID Foundation- was hosted by Rex Elsass, Reid Foundation Chairman. Reid Foundation is a national nonprofit founded by Rex Elsass, in honor of his son, Reid, who died as a result of addiction in 2019. The Foundation is dedicated to finding transformative, innovative therapeutic and preventive programs for those struggling with addiction and mental health issues by harnessing the healing power of music and creative expression.

Angel is currently studying social work. Her aim is to learn how to help those in crisis. She looks forward to shedding more light on the reality of living with a mental illness!

That aims to break the way we provide education and support our youths' mental health; with progressive education, therapy, and awareness for the needed change. Since the age of fourteen, Lyr struggles with mental illness and is passionate about sharing her story through her advocacy and company. For the past eight years, Lyr has been the Youth Spokesperson for the South African Federation of Mental Health and speaks at governmental conferences, podcasts, talks, summits, and international mental health research. She is dedicated to standing up for the youth and the staggering suicide, bullying, and mental illness statistics worldwide through her advocacy and work. Lyr believes that mental health stigma and misunderstandings are primarily due to the lack of knowledge and understanding of mental health and a lack of support for our kids and teens. With her company, she is leading efforts to improve youth mental health and education by empowering our future generations.

The intent of this session is to present a personal understanding and perspective, in order to offer possible insight and hopefully fuel ongoing discussions, here and elsewhere. Drawing from considerations of computing and artificial intelligence, the ending point is a concept of free-will and creativity that involves a reference to the entirety of existence. Explanation calls on quantum physicist David Bohm’s concepts, drawn mainly from his book ''Wholeness and the Implicate Order.'' He offers a non-dualistic oneness to the entirety of existence. This is somewhat integrated with psychologist Carl Rogers’ concept of the person. Rogers proposed that we each have an internal “locus of evaluation”, which he defined in his 1959 paper as being “the source of evidence as to values.” This integration is considered as the root of free-will and creativity, in being able to reference the wholeness Bohm offered in his implicate order, and so find certainty, and thus decision and creativity.

More than anything, we need intimacy, we need community, we need to actually '''be''' with one another. So much needs healing, so much needs praying for. We must regenerate our capacity to love so we can heal ourselves, each other and the larger ecology of life. In this spirit we invite you to join us in a pilgrimage to Chartres during its holiest time of the year during the Feast of the Assumption of Mary and the honoring of the Black Madonna. Join us for a 7-day initiation under the radiance of a full moon into the mysteries of the Divine Feminine through deep reflection, joyous celebration and empowering dance at one of the holiest shrines of the Great Goddess.

Reimagining and regenerating how we love requires that we come to a deep reckoning of the trauma caused by thousands of years of patriarchal oppression of the feminine, of nature, of indigenous peoples, all of which have had the effect of constraining and distorting the expression of love. We need to apologize for what we have done, we need to speak the truth about our wounds, we need to be reconciled with each other at a deep level of interconnectedness. We must learn the most ancient teaching of the masters anew, that we must embrace with unconditional regard the fullness of the Other.

We must strip away the structures of oppression and learn deeper layers of self love so that we can love others more deeply, especially at this time of such global suffering. We must embody the fierceness of love so our inner coherence can compensate for the deepening chaos all around us and catalyze greater compassion for the world. This is why regenerating love is the imperative of our time. We will explore the regeneration of love through a contemplation the 3rd Liberal Art of Rhetorica, studied since ancient times under the aegis of the planet and Goddess Venus (called Aphrodite by the Greeks), known in ancient times as the Goddess of love, beauty, and sexuality.

Venus Rising in all her splendor illuminates the pathway of love for us to embody as we navigate through these very challenging times. Rhetorica corresponds to the 3rd Chakra: the Solar Plexus, which is about how we embody and express ourselves in the world. We will explore what the ancients taught about the science of right thought, right speech and right action. The key to doing what is right is knowing how to love. Right thought, right speech, right action follows the pathway of the heart. The study of rhetoric educates us in a particular freedom, Plato taught, the freedom to remake the world. Rhetoric, he said, is “the art of soul-leading by means of words.” Such a soul leading in its finest and fullest manifestation is a form of love.
